Our firm was recently named one of the top places to work in Washington DC by the Washington Business Journal https://finance.yahoo.com/news/steward-partners-awarded-best-place-185000722.html. One of the metrics that is measured is the level of engagement of the employees and the commitment to mutual purpose that exists in the firm. It is ironic that working at an “independent” firm in financial services, in delivering our best work for clients, we are much more dependent on each other than in any of the firms where I worked previously.
But it is no accident that when you take pride in your workplace and in the work that you deliver, energy and enthusiasm are created in abundance. And that feeling of doing your best work for your clients shines through. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to work with a group of professionals that challenge each other regularly to be better. Like with many things in life, my only regret is that I didn’t join the firm sooner.
Best Places to work is an innovative publication and awards program produced by the Washington Business Journal. The rankings were determined by surveys that went directly to employees who answered a series of questions. The rankings found companies in the region whose employees rate them as the highest on such values as fund, collaborative culture, solid compensations and benefits offerings and other amenities as well as management practices.
